Job Description

Our client, a leader in renewable energy solutions, is seeking a SCADA Project Engineer to join their team. As a SCADA Project Engineer, you will be part of the Plant Controls Team supporting utility-scale renewable projects. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: SCADA Project Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas

Pay Range: $70.00-80.00 per hour

What's the Job?

• Lead SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning on individual projects while providing oversight and guidance to junior engineers.
• Coordinate with project managers and other engineering discipline SMEs to ensure SCADA requirements are met and project timelines are achieved.
• Review and provide constructive input for project contracts with financial partners and equipment manufacturers.
• Gather technical requirements for projects based on grid codes, standards, and contracts to ensure SCADA system capability.
• Commission substation equipment, switches, and plant networks for projects while mentoring junior engineers.

What's Needed?

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Control Engineering, or a similar field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of professional experience in control systems and SCADA platforms.
• Strong grasp of networking design fundamentals including fiber/ethernet, switch, and VLAN configuration.
• Proven experience developing technical documentation including exhibits, scope of works, and functional descriptions.
• Demonstrated experience commissioning networking and plant controls within the renewable energy or power industry.
