Part-time Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager - Hybrid
One River School of Art + Design is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper/Accounting Manager to work 16-24 hours per week. This job is partly remote and partly based in our Englewood NJ school building.
You will join a friendly hard working corporate team that supports our growing network of schools in NJ, NY, CT and IL. You'll report to the CFO and prepare reports for the CEO. From time to time you will be assigned additional special projects to complete. You'll need to be a self-starter who can figure things out for yourself. Our management style is collaborative and service based with each person taking full responsibility of their roles. You will be our subject matter expert in all things accounting related. You will need to have in-depth knowledge of Quickbooks online and be highly experienced in all full-charge accounting procedures.
JOB DUTIES:
Day to Day accounting for 14 legal entities:
A/P function (receive invoices, record in QB, pay via check, CC or online bill pay)
Review and record transactions automatically downloaded from the bank in QB
Work with GM’s to properly categorize expenses incurred at the schools
Monthly bank reconciliations
Maintain a coherent system of accounts, with a supporting filing system
Monitor cash levels and run reports for management on revenue and expenses
Facilities Management for School Units:
Gather and organize facility requests from our ticketing system from local employees and manager
Project manage the facility maintenance needs for local units including HVAC, Pest Control, Cleaning and Waste management
Find and schedule local vendors to receive quotes and resolve issues
Other administrative duties:
Maintain files in Dropbox
Handle inquiries from federal, state & local taxing authorities
Remit sales and use tax
Collect information as needed for the annual audit and communicate information
Manage office supplies, travel arrangements, catering needs, and other office needs for the corporate team
Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly operational reports
