Job Description

Overview:

The Manager Warehouse/Materials Handling oversees and works to improve the daily tasks of Distribution Center Associates. This role plans and implements various continuous improvement projects to manage and improve the flow of products through the building.

  • Assist in creating and meeting all operational KPIs
  • This role reports to a Director of the CSC.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages distribution center associates in day-to-day tasks with the inbound and outbound processes of receiving, order fulfillment, and shipping.
  • Ensures the overall Safety, Quality, and Productivity of distribution center associates.
  • Manages multiple priorities against tight deadlines by maneuvering the workforce to meet the workload(s).
  • Ensures shipping, order fulfillment, and processing goals are met.
  • Manages safety programs in the warehouse that includes meetings, trainings, and record keeping ensuring standards are met or exceeded. Enforces security and inventory control programs.
  • Encourages open communication with staff and pursues continuous process improvements and efficiencies while maintaining a positive, results-oriented work environment in the warehouse.
  • Manages multiple priorities against tight deadlines by maneuvering the workforce to meet the workload.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of goals, KPIs, objectives, policies, and priorities of the organization.
  • Plans warehouse layout and material handling needs, such as space requirements, and storage methods, order picking, packing, and shipping procedures and material handling equipment utilization for storage and redistribution.
  • Compiles operational data to assist in preparing reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations and/or conclusions.
  • Generates, uses and documents standard or ad hoc reports to monitor operations, report on objectives, through-puts and KPI's according to protocols and procedures.
  • Protects physical assets by monitoring and verifying operation of various systems or departments, including facility security systems and alarm status; ensures visitors are controlled and monitored using badges; maintains facility cleanliness.
  • May assist workers in all activities of the operations.
  • Assist with budget preparation, and administration, as appropriate.
  • Responsible for full employment life cycle for staff to include hiring, termination, performance management, coaching, training, and mentoring to staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree or experience in lieu of degree.
  • Experience: 5 years' experience
