Job Description

What You'll Do:
In this full-time role, you'll safeguard our projects, teams, and stakeholders by:

  • Developing, implementing, and monitoring health and safety policies, procedures, and risk assessments across all project phases.
  • Conducting site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with local and international safety standards.
  • Collaborating with architects, engineers, project managers, contractors, and other disciplines to integrate safety into design, engineering, and construction processes.
  • Investigating incidents, preparing detailed reports, and recommending corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness sessions for staff, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety performance, incidents, and compliance documentation.
  • Advising on the safe use of equipment, materials, and work practices, particularly in cutting-edge and unconventional project settings.
  • Supporting sustainability goals by promoting safe, eco-friendly practices that enhance the built environment for future generations.
  • Staying proactive in identifying hazards and proposing innovative solutions to mitigate risks.
  • Liaising with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure safety objectives align with project and company goals.

What You Bring:

  • Preferred: Registration with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) in Malta.
  • If not registered, you must demonstrate:

    • Strong, up-to-date knowledge of current health and safety regulations.
    • A commitment to staying informed on Maltas legislative framework and international best practices.
  • Proven experience in health and safety management, ideally within construction, engineering, or related industries.
  • Familiarity with multi-disciplinary projects and the ability to work seamlessly with diverse teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal) in English to engage with staff, clients, and authorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety-related software for reporting and documentation.
  • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with excellent attention to detail and risk awareness.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.
  • A valid driving license (preferred) for site visits.
