Meet Jews For Jesus

We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization made up primarily of Jewish people, as well as other followers of Jesus who are committed allies of the Jewish people.

Jews for Jesus has branch offices in over a dozen cities around the world. Our international headquarters is located in San Francisco, California. We have 240 full-time staff who serve with us around the world and over 125 trained volunteers. Our staff promotes Jewish faith in Jesus, facilitates Jewish community, and offers spiritual care and local services to support you on your spiritual journey.

Our staff come from diverse Jewish backgrounds—some were raised Orthodox Jewish, some nominally Jewish. We’re artists, parents, doctors, former IDF soldiers, and more. But we have one thing in common: we all believe Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah our prophets foretold.

In the 1960s, most of the resources available for Jewish outreach were outdated and only engaged a small segment of the community. Moishe Rosen sought to change that, and his efforts caught the attention of the media. “Jews for Jesus” began as a slogan coined by the media, but it soon turned into the rallying cry of a movement. By 1973, Rosen had made it the name of our organization.

The concept wasn’t new — after all, Jewish people had been believing in Jesus since, well, Jesus! But this small cadre of Jewish men and women was so passionate about the life-altering hope they’d discovered in Jesus, the Jewish Messiah, that they began employing new and creative ways to share the news on the streets and on college campuses of San Francisco.

Our organization has since expanded globally, and it now operates in more than a dozen cities around the world. Jews for Jesus was founded to innovate new approaches to effectively engage Jewish people with the Jewish Messiah, and that same passion and dedication that ignited us then still drives us today; the methods may change, but the message does not.

About the Executive Assistant Officer

The Executive Assistant supports the Chief Executive Officer (CPO) and has a wide range of responsibilities in any administrative duties deemed necessary to fulfill his/her roles. Jews for Jesus is looking for someone spontaneous and reliable to fill this role. This position will stretch you but also provide much satisfaction and fun.

The Executive Assistant’s responsibilities include:

• Manage calendar and daily and long-term schedule.
• Coordinate internal and external meetings.
• Coordinate, create, and keep Google documents organized.
• Work on an electronic filing system for important documents.
• Screen incoming phone calls.
• Keep the executive office organized on a daily basis.
• Lightly edit letters, articles and other written work.
• Print new speaking messages on 5 X 7 cards and keep all messages organized, along with PowerPoints, in a physical and electronic system.
• Make sure all church deputations have been confirmed prior to the meeting, setting up appointments with the pastor or host of the local church. Order appropriate sales materials and see that they arrive on time.
• Complete the report forms after the meetings, help with donor correspondence, and work with the principals on approaches for church budget support.
• Occasionally accompany the CPO on trips both domestic and international.
• Handle all travel arrangements in advance (flights, car rentals, hotels, etc.).
• Set up visits for the CPO with donors and do needed research for said visits. Set up meetings (Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, etc.) where appropriate with them.
• Mine potential contacts/donors to visit during trips where the CPO schedule allows for it.
• Assist in putting together grant and foundation proposals and work associated with securing, potential strategic partners.
• Maintain an up-to-date media/press list.
• Help to organize business billings.

• Marginal Functions
• Run errands as needed (e.g., gas for car, etc.).
• General, miscellaneous secretarial and administrative duties.

• Work Environment
• Routine use of computers, phones, copiers, and scan/fax machines.
• At times required to run errands using a supervisor’s vehicle.
• Full time M-F, 8 AM – 5 PM.
• Able to work remotely from home on Wednesdays.
• May require occasional evening work.
• May require some weekend work.
• Some travel required

What you bring

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the Executive Assistant:

Education and experience

• 2-year degree in related field, minimum
• 4-year degree in related field, preferred
• 2 years of experience in an administrative support role or equivalent.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Able to meet the physical demands of the position
• Sitting at a computer for long periods of time
• Bending or standing on a stool to open file cabinets
• Occasionally lift and move boxes that are 5-15 pounds
• Walking and use of stairs to different departments
• Able to drive a vehicle
• Good Bible knowledge
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Internet/E-mail (Outlook)
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks with a high attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times and cooperate with all levels of staff
• Able to work independently
• Must possess a clean and valid Driver’s License
